Experience
Rita began her real estate career in 1989. By 1991 she was the top producing
agent in her office and she has never slowed down since. She has sold hundreds
of homes and has superb negotiating skills. Rita prides herself on being
a full-time, professional REALTOR® who attends many seminars and conventions
every year to stay on the cutting edge of technology and the latest trends
in real estate. She has had a business coach since 1997, which has propelled her to the top in her field. This training consists of a half hour call weekly to guide and advise her and her team
to hone their skills.
This incredible training has developed a dynamic team that has the
expertise and knowledge to ensure a smooth transaction for their clients.
Honors
Rita has consistently been recognized as both a top selling and listing agent.
She has received the Standards of Professionalism Award as well as the President's
Club Award numerous times. She moved to RE/MAX of Rancho Bernardo in 1997
and has earned their Platinum Club Award (top award) year after year. In
2001 she was named to the RE/Max International Hall of Fame and has been
ranked in the top 100 agents for the RE/MAX of California & Hawaii Region and in 2004 she was ranked in the top 50 teams for Re/Max and Hawaii. Since moving to Keller Williams Realty
she has won their Double Gold Award 2 years in a row.
Education
Brooks received a B.S. from the University of Minnesota and a M.A. from the
University of California, Irvine. She earned the CFP (Certified Financial
Planner) designation in 1984 and practiced that profession for five years
before entering real estate. In her first five years in real estate she obtained
the GRI and CRS designations, the latter held by only 5% of Realtors nationwide.
She received her Five Star Rated certification after completing extensive
training in mobile technology and Internet marketing to raise her marketing
and service in real estate to a higher level. In 2000 Rita earned the Senior
Real Estate Specialist designation, giving her the extra skills and training
to help the growing senior population. Another certification that she acquired
in 2002 was the Quality Service Certification which sets her above the average
agent in her commitment to higher standards for service to her clients. In
2003 she completed classes to acquire the Luxury Home Specialist designation. In 2006 she earned the E-Pro credential, providing her with the technology to fully utilize the Internet. In 2007 she earned the International
Real Estate Specialist credential, learning about international real estate investments for second homes or retirement homes, popular with the baby boomers and other investors.
She also obtained the Resorts and Recreation Specialist credential, providing the knowledge necessary to advise clients that are interested in buying in recreational areas or in resorts.
Memberships
Rita & Matt are members of the Poway Real Estate Professionals, the San Diego Association
of REALTORS®, the California Association of REALTORS® and the National
Association of REALTORS®. All of these associations uphold a strict code
of ethics and ensure that its members are up to date on the latest marketing
techniques and legislation affecting real estate. Both are Senior Real Estate Specialists and Rita is also a Certified Residential Specialist. Matt is currently
working on this credential and will soon be taking his Broker's exam. They truly want to be the best educated Realtors to better serve their clients

Personal Information
Originally from Canada, Rita is fluent in French and has some fluency in Spanish.
In her leisure time, Rita enjoys ballroom dancing, sailing, hiking, gardening,
reading and traveling. She has two grown daughters and an adorable grandson. Matt is a native San Diegan. He is married to his lovely wife, and high school sweetheart, Michelle. They are very proud parents of their baby boy, Ethan, who is the joy of their life. When he has any spare time, Matt enjoys exercising, playing basketball, coaching youth basketball, playing golf, volunteering, hiking, reading, and just staying active.
Community Involvement
Rita has been very involved in the communities along the I-15 Corridor. She
has been a member of Soroptimist International of Poway since 1990, serving
as an officer in several positions and chairing many committees and fund-raisers.
She has also served as a mentor to troubled teens at a local Continuation
High School for three years. She has been a member of the Chambers of Commerce
in Poway and San Diego North County for many years. She is also a member of the American Association of
University Women (AAUW), Business Network International (BNI), Women In Business and the Abundance Network. She strongly
believes in giving back to the communities in which she works. Matt is a volunteer at the La Jolla Family JCC, where he coaches youth basketball. He was a volunteer at the Linda Vista Recreation Center, where he worked on a community restoration project called "Model Citizens". Matt is the President of his alumni association at the San Diego Jewish Academy in Carmel Valley. And he serves as a board member of his Home Owner Association, Pacific Tower in Pacific Beach.
